RESOLVES DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER (DPF) ISSUES

Powell Contracting is a leading supplier and installer of Industrial concrete barriers, signs and fences in Southern Ontario.  Their vehicles spend a large proportion of their time idling.

The Problem: In each case these vehicles required stationery regen. procedures to clean the DPFs. The vehicles regen lights were coming on frequently and in some cases on a daily basis.  When the vehicles were returned to the dealer for repair the solution provided by the dealer was to remove and clean the DPF.  In addition, injectors and EGR valves were also replaced to attempt to cure the problem.

From January 2011 to August 2011 (8 months), the client spent approximately $32,000 on servicing of EGR valves, fuel injectors and DPFs at the OEM dealer in after warranty services.

The Solution: Forté Premium ULS Diesel Booster® was introduced into the client’s diesel fuel tanks starting August 2011. After approximately 4 weeks of treatment all vehicles were running smoother with less smoke being emitted from the exhaust system.

After 9 months of continual usage of Forté product all vehicles showed no signs of carbon deposits on the tips of the exhaust stacks. This indicates a vastly improved fuel burn leaving little or no residue on the exhausts from unburned or partially burned fuel. There were no stationary regens on vehicles fitted with a DPF even after a full 10 hour work day.

Results and Conclusions: After the continuous use of  Forté Premium ULS Diesel Booster® for 9 months at the proper treat rate, all of the DPFs were inspected. The DPFs showed no signs of wear and there was only a slight amount of carbon dust on the surface of some of the filters.  The filters did not require any further cleaning or maintenance.
