BIO DIESEL SOLVENT PROBLEM…

Biodiesel acts as a solvent; at 100% it can dissolve rubber and some plastics, remove paint, oxidize aluminum and other metals – this may vary depending on bio blends. When biodiesel fuels are used, the condition of seals, hoses, gaskets and wire coatings should be monitored regularly. Other problems related to the solvent effects in biodiesel can be piston rings sticking and breaking, a tendency for top rings to become stuck and elastomer seal swelling and hardening/cracking (older engines are much more susceptible to this).

BIODIESEL RUST INHIBITOR PROBLEM…

There is naturally, more water in biodiesel. Fuel companies inject rust inhibitors into ULSD and biodiesel fuels to counter the damaging effects from water. These rust inhibitors can contribute to internal diesel injector deposits that slow the response of the fuel injector or cause sticking of moving internal parts, which may result in loss of control of injection event timing, as well as the quantity of fuel delivered per injection. A buildup of internal injector deposits can also lead to a loss of vehicle driveability and rough, noisy engine running as well as unwanted variations in power and loss o fuel economy.

BIODIESEL FILTER & INJECTOR PLUGGING PROBLEM…

Biodiesel suppliers warn customers to expect fuel filter plugging. the reason for this is because the solvent properties of biodiesel can strip fuel and oil deposits from all internal engine surfaces. The problem is that these deposits are not broken down and burned; they are left to be filtered. If a deposit happens to be smaller than the smallest micron size of the engines fuel filtration system, then it may pass through and end up choking an injector. Injectors are also susceptible to being plugged from an unfiltered deposits that may exist between the fuel filters and the injector tip.

In biodiesel, filters and injectors are being plugged from the accumulation of unburned fuel and oil deposits that are being stripped from internal engine surfaces. BIODIESEL VISCOSITY PROBLEM…

Biodiesel is a “fatty” fuel and is naturally thicker than conventional diesel fuel at lower temperature. It will congeal at higher temperatures and is not recommended for use in colder climates.

BIODIESEL ENGINE OIL DEGRADATION PROBLEMS…

Biodiesel blends may cause severe engine oil degradation, due to normal engine blow-by and the corrosive nature of biodiesel. Diesel engine manufacturers are recommending more frequent oil change intervals if a high percentage (=>B20) of biodiesel is used.

There is always some level of cross-contamination between the crankcase and the upper engine. The keys to minimizing the negative effects from this are to ensure that piston rings are kept cleans and free to move, and to minimize friction and the corrosive properties of the fuel. Forté Premium ULS Diesel Booster will assist in this regard, mainly due to its ability to dissolve , clean and burn sticky fuel deposits, and by installing lubricity and vital anti-oxidants into the fuel so that any fuel that makes its way into the crankcase has been effectively neutralized.

FORTÉ OIL ADDITIVE SOLUTION…

The addition of Forté Fusion+ Oil Treatment™ to the engine oil further contributes to boosting anti-oxidants and anti-wear in the oil itself. Fusion`s predominantly nitrogen-based, ashless technology not only provides more anti-wear, it also maintains a higher Total Base Number (TBN) and lower Total Acid Number (TAN), effectiely preventing the breakdown of the oil over longer intervals. Furthermore, nitrogen enriched fuel is known to improve fuel efficiency; therefore, as long as Fusion is in the oil, any blow-by from the crankcase that finds its way to the combustion chamber may further improve fuel efficiency by by fortifying the fuel with Fusion (nitrogen) enriched engine oil. Forté Fusion+ is compatible with any engine oil. it is also recommended to clean internal engine oil deposits by installing Forté Pre Lube™ oil flush into the crankcase, to be run under normal operating conditions for two to four hours prior to performing an oil change. This will remove existing deposits and free piston rings.
